Biography
Dr. Sesh Sunkara is a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Reproductive Medicine at King’s College London, and a Consultant Gynaecologist and Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine at King’s Fertility.
She is an RCOG accredited Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery having initially specialised in general Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG). Her research work on poor responders undergoing IVF formed the basis for her Doctoral Thesis leading to her Research degree in Reproductive Medicine; Doctor of Medicine (MD) awarded by King’s College London, UK.
She is listed in the TOP 0.1% of worldwide scholars in Reproductive Techniques and is a highly cited author in the field of Reproductive Medicine and Infertility with over 100 peer reviewed scientific papers. She has authored several book chapters, delivered numerous lectures at several national and international conferences, symposia, and educational workshops worldwide. She has been Principal Investigator for NIHR funded and NIHR portfolio clinical studies.
She was Associate Editor for Human Reproduction Update Journal, the highest impact factor journal in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from 2018 to 2022 and Associate Editor of the Human Reproduction Journal from 2014 to 2018. She is on the Editorial Board of Reproductive Biology and Endocrinology Journal, Associate Editor of Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation Journal and an expert reviewer for several other journals. She was invited as education faculty member for the International Federation of Fertility Societies (IFFS) in 2020. She is a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) Guideline Development Group (GDG) for Ovarian Stimulation in IVF and the ESHRE Guideline on Unexplained Infertility. She is the Chair for ESHRE Good practice recommendations on Preconception care (in process).

Professor at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia with qualification as Full Professor. Specialist in Gynaecology and Obstetrics completed the PhD in Germ Cell Biology.
It performs the role of Director of the Clinic of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Policlinico di Modena and the School of Specialisation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia .
It deals specifically with Human Reproductive Medicine and Surgery and in this area is engaged in clinical programmes related to the Medically Assisted Procreation, Fertility Preservation, Gynaecological Endocrinology, Hysteroscopy and Conservative Gynaecological Surgery. He coordinates a preclinical and clinical research group that has led to relevant and recognised clinical developments in the field over the years. In particular developments in methodologies for measuring ovarian reserve and their use in personalising therapyare now considered the standard at international level. Prof La Marca is key-opinion leader in Reproductive Medicine as evidenced by the continuous participation in Advisory Boards and committees for the drafting of guidelines for clinicians.
He has an intense teaching activity, teaching in several degree courses and participating as a speaker at numerous national and international congresses.
He edits for several specialist journals and has been involved in the writing of many textbooks.
E' Editor-in-Chief of the international journal Minerva Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is the author of numerous scientific articles published in journals with bibliometric indices in the national top rank.
